Mathematics for school kids

Many vocational and technical courses including courses at the higher level (university) expect you to have knowledge in math. Examples of such courses are industrial technical courses such as Electricity and commercial courses such as accounting. In most, if not all Anglo-Saxon Universities, in order to study economy you need knowledge in mathematics. One of the amazing courses today is computer programming (software). To do the minimum in computer programming today, you need basic knowledge in mathematics.
In this course we give you that knowledge. We give you the mathematical knowledge you need to do those courses. We have an easygoing system (teaching approach) for everybody.
Are you the type who started studying mathematics sometime ago and then gave up along the way? Mathematics is very important. This is the opportunity for you to do mathematics successfully. One of the main reasons why people drop out of math course is because they do not take the initial chapters of mathematics seriously. The only thing you need to know in order to do this course is to be able to recognise numbers from 1 to 1000. That is all! So, we can begin.

Hundreds, Tens and Units

The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are call units.
10 is the number ten. 20 is made up of two tens; 30 is made up of three tens; 40, four tens and so on until 90, which is made up of nine tens. The number 42 read as Forty Two, consists of four tens and two units. The number 57, read as Fifty Seven, consists of five tens and seven units.
100 is the number, One Hundred. Now, 200 consists of two hundreds; 300 consists of three hundreds; 400, four hundreds and so on until 900, which is made up of nine hundreds. The number 325, read as Three Hundred and Twenty Five, consists of three hundreds, two tens and and five units. The number 680, read as Six Hundred and Eighty consists of six hundreds, eight tens and zero unit.
The digits of any number less than 1000 can be written under the headings of Hundreds, Tens and Units as in the followong example:

The number is read as Four Hundred and Six. Hundreds, is abbreviated to H. Tens, is abbreviated to T and Units is abbreviated to U. The number has four hundreds, zero tens and six units. So 4 is under the H heading; 0 is under the T heading; 6 is under the U heading.
